RETURN FROM SYDNEY WOMAN FINED £25 (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Friday The minimum fine of £25 was imposed by Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., on a married woman, Betty Diamond, for smuggling into Wellington furs made , up into apparel, drapery, an electric . toaster, a clock and three floor rugs, * valued at £SO. The goods were ; brought back from a visit to Sydney. Diamond gave the customs a written declaration that she had only ten 1 shillings *vorth of goods. The duty ■ payable was stated to be £2O.
