FUTURE AIRMEN
WAIKATO CANDIDATES 140 MEN INTERVIEWED SELECTION COMMITTEE HERE Today the Royal New Zealand Air Force crew selection committee completed a three-day sitting in Hamilton, during which about 140 candidates for the Air Force from the Waikato district were interviewed. The committee was Mr E. Caradus, Director of Education Services of the Royal New Zealand Air Force, Flight-Lieutenant A. C. McArthur, and Pilot-Officer R. Porter. The candidates who were interviewed and selected as suitable for training in the air crews comprised pilots, observers and air gunners. Tomorrow the selection committee will visit Te Kuiti. It will sit at Ohakune during the middle of next week before returning to Wellington for a fortnight. At the conclusion of the sitting in Wellington the third tour of the committee since the outbreak of war will have been completed.
The fourth tour of New Zealand by the committee will commence shortly afterward, and Hamilton will be visited again early in December. Then another large number of Waikato candidates will be interviewed.
