IMPARTIAL ALLOCATION MINISTER DENIES CHARGES DEMAND BY THE STANDARD (By Telegraph.—Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday A denial that partiality was shown in the allocatilon of State houses was made by the Minister of Housing, the Hon. H. T. Armstrong, when replying to statements made in the Standard. It was stated that there was intense dissatisfaction among members of the Auckland Labour Representation Committee at the allocations, and the paper demanded from the Minister the names of the committee responsible. It also alleged that people with large families had been kept waiting for houses mu*h longer than those with small families in similar circumstances. The Minister said that if the Auckland committee had any specific cases he wouid be only too glad to make personal investigation, but he was satisfied the allocations were being fairly made. He had investigated similar complaints and found them groundless. It was undesirable to make public the names of the allocation committee, which was formed of representatives of the State Advances Department, men who were experts at their job and in whom he had the utmost confidence.
