WEDDING

PETERSON—-DEANE MAGNOLIA VELVET GOWN The wedding was solemnised at St. Andrew’s Church, Matamata, on Tuesday, July 2, when Elsie Mary, daughter of Mr and Mrs J. C. Deane, of Okoroire, was married to Cecil Andrew Norman, son of Mr and Mrs K. Peterson. The Rev. J. H. Combes was the officiating minister. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a beautiful gown of magnolia embossed ring velvet, cut on slim-fitting lines, the skirt falling to form a long train. Her tulle veil was held in place by a topknot of orchids and she carried a muff of orchids. The bridesmaids were Miss Nellie Dean, sister of the bride, and Miss Andrea Peterson, sister of the bridegroom. Norma Wilson and Mavis Colledge, cousins of the bride, were flowergirls. All were frocked alike in magnolia ring velvet cut on slender lines with scarlet headdresses and muffs. Mr Gordon Campbell was best man and Mr Fred Crabb was the groomsman. At the reception in the Rialto, Mrs J. C. Deane received her guests wearing a navy blue wool georgette frock with gold ornaments and she carried a posy of scarlet roses. She was assisted by Mrs Peterson who was dressed in blue and clover afghaline with a posy of cyclamen and anemonies. The Guest List The guests were: —Mrs J. Morrissy (Thames), Mr and Mrs A.
