PADDYS MARKET A very successful Paddys Market was held in the local hall recently, the proceeds being in aid of the Sick, Wounded and Distress Fund. The function was well patronised and the various stalls did good busi- | ness throughout the day, the sum of £IOO being raised. Competitions were won by Mrs V. Henrikson, Miss W. Graham (Thames), Miss M. Laurence, Mr R. Earl and Master Ron Miles. FAREWELL AFTERNOON A number of friends gathered at the home of Mrs A. Northcott recently to bid farewell to Mrs Hall, who with her family, is leaving to reside at Te Miro. A very pleasant afternoon was spent during which Mrs P. Rushton presented the guest-of-honour with a book as a token of the esteem in which she was held by her many friends and wished her every happiness in the future. Miss A. Hall, who was present, was also the recipient of a book. Mrs Hall suitably replied.
