MISSIONARY AUXILIARY

ST. PAUL’S METHODIST CHURCH The monthly meeting of St. Paul’s Missionary Auxiliary was held recently in the church parlour, which was artistically arranged with red berries, violets and narcissi. Mrs Tinsley, president, occupied the chair, and opened the meeting with a hymn reading and prayer. She gave a very helpful message, full of courage and cheer. The president welcomed Mrs E. C. Leadley, a medical missionary on furlough from New Georgia, in the Solomon Island group. Mrs Leadley gave an interesting talk, touching on the climatic conditions, the native people, their diet, customs and industry. Mrs Leadley said “It is wonderfully encouraging to see the development of the people who are becoming splendid citizens and Christians, instead of head-hunting cannibals. The president thanked the speaker and closed the meeting with the benediction.
