QUEEN WILHELMINA

AT BUCKINGHAM rALACE It is believed that Queen Wilhelmina will remain in London for the duration of the war. As she is a reigning sovereign, it is necessary for her to keep in constant communication with her Government, whose seat is at present in London. She is staying as the guest of King George at Buckingham Palace. A suite of apartments there has been placed at her disposal for as long as she wishes to remain. No alternative accommodation has been offered to her, but no doubt should she later wish to have her own residence here, a house in the Royal gift may be made available. Her tastes are simple, and it is unlikely that she would desire accommodation more than barely ample for her needs. Mention has been made of a suite being available in Kensington Palace. The Clock House suite may be closed when Princess Alice, Countess of Athlone and the Earl of Athlone leave for Canada. Princess Alice and Queen Wilhelmina are first cousins.
