MAN OF 70 KILLED

WALKED IN FRONT OF TRAM (By Telegraph.—Special to Time,) CHRISTCHURCH, Sunday Fatal injuries were suffered by William Ashby, single; aged 70, of Moorhouse Avenue, Christchurch, when he was struck by a tram on Saturday. According to a police statement Ashby, who is almost blind, walked in front of a tram while crossing the road. He died in hospital on Saturday morning. An inquest was opened and adjourned.
