FIGURES FOR HAMILTON SHARP INCREASE IN BIRTHS j The most prominent feature of the | vital statistics in Hamilton for February is a considerable increase j in the number of births, compared : with the corresponding month last year. Marriages also show an appreciable increase while there is a slight drop •in the number of deaths. Last month the number of births registered in Hamilton was 56, compared with 47 in February last year. Marriages numbered 32, an increase j of seven on the figure for t)»e corresponding month in 1939. Deaths j in February of last year numbered j 28, being three more than the num- ; ber for last month. NCARUAWAHIA STATISTICS The vital statistics in Ngaruawahia for last month, with those for the i corresponding period of 1939 in parentheses, are as follows; Births, i 8 (9); deaths, 2 (2); marriages, 0 (3).
