Copyright) CAIRO, Feb. 17 In a broadcast to Egypt today Lieutenant-General Sir Archibald Wavell, commander of the British forces in Palestine, said: “There will be a surprise yet for Germany. She will undoubtedly use the advantages of her central position and her long preparation for aggression, but her ultimate defeat is certain.”

He paid a tribute to Egypt for her co-operation.
