SERIOUS CHARGE
BUTCHER TO STAND TRIAL DANCE HALL INCIDENT (By Telegraph.— Pres* Association) AUCKLAND, Monday A butcher, Matthew Alexander Doyle, aged 25, was charged in the Police Court that on January 27, at Clark’s Beach, with intent to do grievous bodily harm to Patrick John Boland, he did wound Boland. Evidence was given that an argument on political and religious grounds occurred at a dance hall at midnight, ending in Boland being found with a serious wound in the throat. Accused pleaded not guilty and reserved his defence. He was committed to the Supreme Court for triaL
