FAST TRIAL GALLOP
DEFAULTER AND HIGH CASTE SPRINT BY ROYAL CHIEF (United Press. Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) SYDNEY, August 22 The outstanding gallop at Randwick to-day was recorded by Defaulter and High Caste, \vh covered five furlongs on the outside of the A grass track in 1.3. Defaulter was going slightly the better at the finish. Both are expected to strip in excellent trim for their engagements at Warwick Farm on Saturday. Royal Chief covered six furlongs in 1.17, pulling up satisfactorily. Pearl of Asia and Beau Vite ran five furlongs in 1.4 J. Beau Hepaire and Moorsotis covered the same distance in 1.5. Sydney horses doing well on the tracks are Gold Rod, who looks a picture, St. Constant, Penthides, Tel Asur, liuzalong. Reading and Feminist. Melbourne reports state that Ajax is in wonderful heart and training on excellently.
