ELECTIONS IN MAY

AUCKLAND TRANBPORT BOARD 40 NOMINATIONS RECEIVED (By Telegraph.—Press Association) AUCKLAND, Friday It is .understood that 40 nominations have been received by the Labour Representation Committee for the selection of a full labour ticket for the Auckland Transport Board election in May next. It is also understood that the present chairman, the Hon. H. G. R. Mason, has not been nominated.

It is definitely stated that Mr W. T. Anderton M.P. is not contesting the seat owing to excessive parliamentary duties*. The remaining sitting Labour members have been nominated.
