The letter cites six reasons in favour of annual play:— Cl) It assures continuous public Interest. '2) There is no reason why a nation not wishing to challenge In any year should preclude others from challenging. (3) The prestige of the Davis Cup contest would be lost. (4) It would seriously shorten the active years of Davis Cup players. (5) Biennial play would encourage the growth of professional tennis. (6) Mr. Dwight Davis strongly opposes biennial play.
