A RECORD YEAR

PANTOMIME IN BRITAIN RETURN SEASON AT GLASGOW This is a year of records for pantomimes, says a London paper. Manchester Palace’s 44 Cinde'rella ” is to run into March—the first time this has happened since 1921. The Birmingham Royal pantomime run w-as extended on the first night because of the' heavy advance bookings. And in London it is probable that the Lyceum's 44 Beauty and the Beast ” will set up a new record for the theatre. But the most amazing pantomime story comes from Scotland. Horace Collins produced his 44 Forty Thieves ” at the Glasgow Pavilion on December 20 for six weeks’ run, with, three or four weeks at the Edinburgh Royal to follow. The show was such a success that it is returning to Glasgow. It will give encore' performances for two weeks at least.
