ROTORUA TOURNEY WALKER'S RINK SUCCEEDS (Special to Times.) ROTORUA, Friday The open rinks championship of the Rotorua Bowling Club was won by the Auckland team comprising Hardie Neil, W. Parkhouse, H. Woolley and M. Walker. The Auckland team, which met C. V.Sutherland, J. Cornes, J. Kerr and S. Purdy, of Mount Eden, was behind on points throughout the match until the last head, when the deficit was one. On this head, however, Kerr unluckily trailed the jack to three of Walker’s bowls, Purdy being unable to kill the head owing to blocks, which were placed half-way down the green by Walker. Walker's rink won by 19 points to 17. MATAMATA TOURNAMENT PUTARURU TEAM WINS (Special to Times.) MATAMATA, Saturday An open tournament conducted by the Matamata Bowling Club was won by a Putaruru team, consisting of Radd, Yandle, Cook and Pearce, which had four wins out of five games. Other results were as follows : Woolly, Luxton, Kirk, Donald (Morrinsville , 3 wins. 2 losses; Harris Kirk, Coutts, Adams (Walton), 2 wins, 3 losses; F. Wright, Lock. W. Wright, Gunn i Matamata . 3 wins, 2 losses; Rosenfeldt, Callaghan, Schell, Barnes Te Aroha). 3 wins, 2 losses; Polglase, I Lansdown, Goodwin, Cobham Te Poi). j wins. 2 los*r*; r, t iss.
