DAIRY PRODUCTION
BENEFIT TO FARMERS. EFFECT OF BONUS PAYMENTS. ADDITIONAL £400,000 ESTIMATED. It is estimated that the average payment to dairyfarmers in the Auckland Province will be in the vicinity of 94d per lb butter-fat, compared with just under 9d per lb last season. It is frequently estimated that every penny per pound butter-fat through the season means a distribution to farmers in the province of about £1,000,000, and on that assumption tho total amount paid out in bonus should be £600,000. However, in view of the fact that there was a reduced output for last season, it is as well to make the estimate more conservative; but it can bo asserted with reasonable accuracy that a sum of about £400,000 should be distributed among the farming community within the next few days.
HINUERA COMPANY. • The Ilinuera Co-operative Dairy Company will pay a bonus of lid per lb over the whole of the season’s supply, to paid-up shareholders, at the annual meeting on August 1. TE AROHA-THAMES VALLEY. The Te Aroha-Thames Valley Dairy Company will make an advance payment for June supply of 10id per. lb butterfat plus id per lb as a bonus under the new scheme of distribution.
