AN ENTHRONEMENT.

ARCHBISHOP OF WESTMINSTER. MESSAGE FROM THE' POPE. I A WORLD TORN TO PIECES. United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright. LONDON, April 29. Dr. Arthur Hlnsley was enthroned as Roman Catholic Archbishop of Westminster to-day. The cathedral was crowded and the congregation knelt as Dr. Hlnsley passed through the main door to the High Altar under a great white and gold canopy borne on gilded staves. The new archbishop said he brought a message of hope and encouragement from the Pope, who made an impassioned appeal for the world, which was torn to pieces by the war and by the ruinous results of international jealousies and strife. Dr. Hlnsley added: “We must insist that the efforts of economists and statesmen to secure peace will be vain unless there be a turning to God, for the world cannot give us Christ’s peace.”
