LONDON, April. 30. “ The late Mr Richard Seddon described New Zealand as 1 God’s own country.’ I call it man’s earthly paradise,” writes Lord Bledisloe, ex-Governor-General of the Dominion, in supporting Sir lan Hamilton’s suggestion that New Zealand is one of the best places in the Empire in which to bring up a healthy and happy family. “ Apart from New Zealand’s scenic loveliness, its incomparable climate, fertile soils and excellent sport,” adds Lord 'Bledisloe, “it Is pre-eminently peopled by Nature’s gentlefolk. “ Nowhere in the world, considering all classes and both races, is the standard of education, refinement and culture higher, or the people more warmhearted,. hospitable_tond lovable.” *
