RUSSIAN PRINCESSES.

IN SOCIETY AGAIN. A few years ago Impoverished Russian aristocrats were earning somewhat precarious living in London as shopkeepers, producers of little artistic trifles, and, in one or two instances, as •proprietors of -cafes serving Russian dishes. Now, however, some of the women in the group seem to be taking their places again in society, and nearly every charity ball being held in London this autumn has three, four or more names of patrons. The princesses will attend innumerable committee meetings, all the time looking like tragedy queens from -oldtime melodramas. They are tall and stately as to llgure, and, in spite of their sad expressions and pale faces, they retain the imposing carriage which made them outstanding members of the retinue at the Czar’s court in. the old days in their native country.
