MATANGI NEWS.

SUCCESSFUL DANCE HELD. A very jolly»dance, organised by the Public Hall Social Committee, was held on Monday, when there was a large attendance, .many visitors being present. Martin's Melody Makers from Hamilton supplied excellent music and extras were played by Miss Eileen Nielsen: and Mr R. Cranston. Mr C. Richardson was M.C. Two Monte Carlos were won by Miss Amelia Shaw and Mr C. Middlemiss, and Miss Jessie Cameron and Mr Rex Cameron. Supper was served by ladies of the committee. Among those present were: —Mesdames D. McKenzie, J. B. Taylor, A. Keys, J. Wainwright, B. Hogan, J. Alderman, Angles, J. Milne. Misses J. Cameron, W. Wilkes, Phyllis Turner, Jean Baird, Evelyn Barton, Ivy Wainwright, Merle Robinson Ivy Townsend, Hath. Dance, Dawn Milne, Merle Robinson, Amelia Shaw, Audrey Shine, Jessie Shaw, Phyllis Taylor, G. Townsend, Gloria Cubis, Connie Wainwright, Edith Wainwright, Audrey Cranston, Muriel McKenzie, Eileen Nielsen. Card Evening. On Saturday the committee of the ladies’ hockey club held a very successful evening at the Public Hall, when progressive 500 was played. There was a good attendance and the winners of cards were Mrs A. Jamieson, senior, and Mr H. Thompson. Supper was served by the ladies of the committee.
