HALL MEETING. The annual meeting or the Kaipaki S?otImrs’ Hall Association (Inc.) was held in Ihe hall on Monday evening. There was a rnic attendance, Mr .1. Boyd was fleeted lo iin> chair. A successful year’s activities were, reported and Mr R. Speake, secretary, presented a very favourable balance-sheet, showing a credit balance. Votes or thanks were accorded the outgoing officers and committee and upon a ballot being taken all were returned with only oife exception. The standing committee is as follows: Mr J. Boyd,,chairman; Mr K. Speake, secretary; Messrs J. Graham', W. Cunningham, Tl. Goodwin, J. Speake and P. Steenson. It Is the intention of the committee to complete the lining and celling or the supper room as soon as sufficient funds are available. Cricket Matoh. As a wind-up to the season’s cricket, a friendly match was played oil the home ground on Saturday last. The two captains (Messrs R. Catchpolc and (b Bones) picked sides. Catchpole’s team being Hie winners, making 137 runs (Alan Boyd 72. Bert Goodwin -13). The opponents scored 87 (Jim Tarr 29 and Trevor Guide,v 10). An enjoyable and successful season Avas thus brought to a close and thoughts will now be turned to winter sport. Already ihe footballers are getting Into practice and next Saturday hockey practice AVlll start. > ; * Church Service. There was a good attendance at the Anglican Church service held on? Sunday afternoon last. The Rev. C. AV. Chandler, Vicar of Cambridge, officiated and Miss Jackson (Cambridge.) presided at the organ.
