OHAUPO
ANZAC DAY SERVICE. An Anzac Day service was held in the Ohaupo Memorial Hall on Thursday morning. ‘Returned soldiers paraded and marched from the station headed by Piper •Rodgerson, of Hamilton. 'Major C. J. Pierce was' hi charge or the parade. The Boy Scouts ahd Cu'bs also marched to the hall. At Hie hall Mr \V. A. Forsyth laid a beautiful wreath of Flanders poppies and laurel hi ihe foot of the memorial tablet on behalf of Ihe Returned Soldiers’ Association. About a dozen wreaths in all were laid in memory or the fallen. The Revs. Moore, of Kihikihi, and Chandler, or Cambridge, Officiated at the service. Mr Moore delivered a stirring address. • Mr D. s. Reid, M.P., also briefly undressed tlm gathering and Mrs Wylie olllclaled at Ihe piano. At Ihe conclusion of the service Trumpeter Davis, of Cambridge, sounded tho Last Post.
Bridge Club. The opening night of the Bridge Club was held in the social hall on Tuesday, April The winners for the evening were Miss .Scott and Air W. A. Forsyth. On the second evening held on April 10 the winner was Mr J. Snodgrass. The third evening was held In the social hall on April 23, the winner for tho evening being Mr A. W. Hamilton.
