THE THAMES CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING CONCLUDES. BRACELET TO BONNIE DIRECT. (Times Special Reporter.) THAMES, Saturday. The annual meeting of the Thames Trotting Club was concluded to-day in fine, but overcast weather, before a good attendance. The track was holding after heavy, overnight rain. Following are the results: — KARAKA HANDICAP, Of £7O; limit 3.5; 11 miles. 1— 2 ICEWPIE’-S OREST, Mr J. Gee’s b c, by Blue Mountain King-—Kewpie, 3yrs., limit (owner) * 6—7 CHERRILL, Messrs J. Maboney and J. L. Aelson’s b g, by Frank Worthy—. Gwen Thorpe, 3yrs, limit (L. J. Mahoney) * 2 i—OiL-AX, Messrs R. Clfficott and E. R. vernall’s ch m, by Travis Axworthy—Olwyn, syrs, 36yds (L. N. Vernall) > 3 Also started; 5—5 Muriel Bond, 7—6 Ranfurly Lass, 3—-3 Roma Girl, limit; I—41 —4 Star Pronto, 48yds. Winner trained by owner, Grey Lynn. Star Pronto, who was well fancied, spoilt his chances by breaking across the top when he was In a handy position. Olax, the second and first fancy respectively, had* every chance, only to fade out at the end. The winner was wo’i supported and the unlucky Cherr.ll, the outsider on the place machine, paid over a quarter of a century for a -place.. Rcma Girl broke badly at the start, and was soon hopelessly out or it, Chrrrill leading past the stands from Kewpie's Crest, Muriel Bond, Olax, Ranfurly Lass, and Star Pronto. There was no alteration in the order along the back, Muriel Rond beaiTng Cherrlll across the top, where Kewpie’s Crest was handy In front of Olax. Here Star Pronto, who was improving l:ls position, broke badly and Muriel Bond led at the turn from Cnernll, who broke here and lost ground, Olax and Ranfurly Lass. In an exciting finish Kewpte’s Crest, on the rails, was going nicely in front when Cherrlll, finishing w.tn a rattle, only failed to catch him by a neck. O’ax was half a length away third, in front of Muriel Bond and Ranrur.y Lass. Times, 3.01-5, 3.0 2-5, 3.1 2-5.

Young Rodney, who was a firm favourite, broke practically on the post for the third fancy, Worthy Nor, to beat him by a narrow margin. Sophy Bingen'scattered at the start, hut soon settled down. Passing the stands Scotch 'Real had command Trom Worthy Nor, -Sophy Bingen, Nelson’s Glory, and Young Rodney, with Waskasu breaking again. Along the back there was little between Scotch Real, Worthy Nor and Nelson’s Glory, with Young Rodney Improving his position. Scotch Real skipped across the lop, -Nelson’s Glory also going up in the air here. Scotch Real led at the turn front worthy Nor, Young- Rodney and -Sophie Bingen. Over the deciding stages Young Rodney was going nicely In rront when he broke, and lost ground, Worthy Nor going on to win by a head from the favourite, with Scptch Real two and a-hair lengths away. Nelson’s Glory was fourth, with Sophy Bingen next. Times, 3.46 1-5, 3.41 2-5, 3.4 S 1-5, 3.49 3-5.

The solid each way ravourite, Winaway, was slow to settle down and this cost her what chances she possessed. The winner, who was not one or the favoured division, was always handy, and won narrowly from Silver Watch, who was well supported, and ran a good race. Wlnaway broke badly at the start, Min Bells leading early rrom Peter Junior, Bonnie Direct, Silver Watch, and Tryment. There was little alteration passing the stands, Min Bells showing out Trom Peter Junior breaking. Over the final bit Wlnaway . along the back. At the turn Ronnie Direct came through on the rails and here led Min Bells, Tryment and Sliver Watch on the outer, with Wlnaway and Peter Junior breaking. Over the final but Bonnie Direct held on to win narrowly by a bead rrom Silver Watch, with Tryment two and a-lialf lengths away. Wlnaway was Tourth, In front or Min Bells. Times, 3.33, 3.33 1-5, 3.37 2-5, 3.37 3-5.

GOLDFIELDS’ HANDICAP, Of £150; limit 4.34: 2 miles. 1 2—PRINCE PEDRO, Mr R. A. McMillan’s blk g, by Pedro Pronto— Alone, aged, 12yds (owner) .... 1 4 —4—(HOMEWARD, Mr A. lies’ br m, by Happy'Voyage—(Grattan Derby, 6 yrS, limit (S. M. August) 2 o—5 —(MANCO, Mr L. Booth’s ch g, by Peterwah —Puninga, aged, limit (L. 'Laver) Also started: 3—2 Jackie Thorpe, 5—6 Nelson de Oro, limit; 2 —l Nimbus, 36yds. Winner trained by owner, Tamahere. Prince Pedro, the straight-out ravourite, won decisively, artcr having been well placed throughout, Homeward, the rourth Taney each way, hung on well at the end, while Nimbus, arter tailing the field practically all the way, was finishing strongly. When be returned to the birdcage a section or the public showed their approval or his showing. Jackie Thorpe skipped at the start and lost ground, Manco leading early rrom Homeward, Prince Pedro and Nelson de Oro, with a gap back to Jackie Thorpe and Nimbus. At the end of a further circuit Nelson de Oro had hit the front, front Homeward, Manco, Jackie Thorpe and Prince Pedro, with Nimbus still well back. There was no alteration along the back, Kelson de Oro leading at the home turn front Manco, Homeward, Prince Pedro and Jackie Thorpe, with Nimbus making up ground. Prince Pedro came through lit the run home to win well by three-parts or a lengffh rront Homeward, who stayed on to beat Manco by two lengths. Nimbus was a length away, fourth, with Jackie Thorpe close up. Times 4.46 l-J. 4.47 4-5, 4.49, 4.47.
