The going was excellent. The inner plough and grass track were, used for pacework, ihe hurdles being erected on the hurdle I rack. The first work on Hie course proper was done by Knight of Australia, who was sent away from the seven furlong peg, coming home the last six fur-

-longs in 1.245. He was doing his work very easily. Flit Acre, after working around easily, was sent home the last two furlongs in 265.

A very -pleasing task was done by Galilee, who completed her live furlong journey nicely in 1.4 3-5. She could have improved upon this. Calllsto ran two furlongs easily hj 265.

Namakia was easing up at the end of her three furlongs task Which took her 445.

The General Latour-'Kilbeggan colt was being kept up to his work while running over two furlongs in 25 l-ss. This fellow is rapidly furnishing Into a rather pleasing type. He has a nice style. Trishna was moving very slowly at the beginning of his mile Journey, but was hitting out from the six furlong peg to come home in 1.22. Sweet Rosa galloped very attractively to traverse six furlongs in 1.20 3-5. This was a nice effort. Her stable companion Arawa Rose could have improved upon her 1.24 for a similar task.

A pleasing task was done by Musquil, who placed half a mile behind in 50s.

A feature of the morning was the line display of jumping by Lucidus (R. Syme) who was schooled over three fences which -he cleared In masterly fashion.

Doing pace-work were Wait and See, Snow Lap, Ruanul, and the Hunting Song Ally.
