YOUNG PEOPLE’S CLUB.
PARENTS’ NIGHT AT HINUERA. A very successful “Parents’ Night” was held on Monday, when parents and friends were the 'guests of the members of the Young People’s Club. Modern and old-time dancing was enjoyed by young and old alike, while much-appreciated items were given -by Miss M. Hawke and Mr F. Conder; recitations, MasVtr M. Sweetman; song, ballet dancing by Misess B. Wade, T. Swan, E. Swan, I. and M. Germann and 0. Pond; and song numbers by the “Happiness Boys," comprising Messrs. C. Hough, H. Hawke, F. Germann, A. Robinson, P. Mantle and G. Sweetman.
Nearly 150 guests sat down to supper, the room being tastefully decorated in a colour scheme of red and white, while bowls of -red roses adorned the tables.
The following toasts were duly ■honoured: The King; The Parents, Mr D. Mclsaac, Mr H. Settle; The Y.P.C., Mr P. Hawke, Mr H. Settle; Ladles, Mr C. Hough, Miss E. Swan; Gentlemen, Miss T Swan, Mr P. Mantie; Absent Members, Miss I. Germann; Absent Parents, Mr N. Pond; Founders of the Club, Miss G. Pond, Mr R. Warrender; The Chairman, Mr H. Hawke, Mrs D. Mclsaac.
