MOVING TO HAMILTON.
FAREWELL AT INVERCARGILL. Good-byes have just been said to Mrs H. Acton, a pillar in the Invercargill Red Cross Society, the Returned Soldiers’ Association and the War Funds’ Association, who is off to make her home in Hamilton, says a Southern paper. Prominent officials of the three bodies gathered to appropriately farewell her, tributes being paid to her valuable services extending over many years. Mrs J. G. Petrie, one of the original members of the Red Cross, presented Mrs Aoton with a handbag and purse of notes, the handbag being procured from the Dunedin Disabled Soldiers’ factory.
Mrs R. Henderson ( a prominent social worker), and Mrs W. P. Smith (president of the Red Cross Society) said it with flowers, two beautiful bouquets being handed to their departing friend.
