DARING BURGLARY.
AT PALMERSTON NORTH. CHASE AFTER INTRUDER. BANK ACCOUNTANT’S EXPERIENCE (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON, N„ Wednesday. A daring burglary occurred just before dawn yesterday at the residence of Mr. H. C. Morgan, bank accountant, in Featherston Street. Two strangers were Involved. On awakening at 5.30 a.m., Mrs. Morgan saw the outline of a man’s form on the blind. She awoke her husband, who made a rush at the Intruder, who raced downstairs and escaped by the front door, being joined by a companion. Subsequently a small purse was found empty on the floor, with £6 missing. A fur coat which the intruder had taken from another part of the house was found over a chair. It was later discovered that the -telephone had been plugged. Mr. Morgan suffered bruises in a collision with the stairs in his chase after the Intruder. Entrance had been gained by slipping the catch of one of the lower windows.
