TECHNICAL v. THAMES.

HAMILTON BOYS WIN. The first and seoond fifteens from the Hamilton Technical High School played their annual matches against the corresponding teams of Thames High School at Thames on Saturday. Both Hamilton teams were successful, the seniors securing a clear cut victory over Thames by 9 points to 3, while the juniors gained the upper hand by 13 points to 11. Light rain fell during most of the games. The Senior Game. From the kick-off Hamilton attacked and after pressing Thames in their own territory for some minutes the local hoys were penalised for off-side play. Slow kicked a nice goal.—■ Hamilton Technical 3, Thames 0. The territorial advantage remained \vith Hamilton, their forwards predominating both in the tight and the loose, their footwork' being superior to Thames. From the side-line Charlton, at wing three-quarter, secured and cross-kicked to his forwards. Slow secured and scored. The kick missed. —Hamilton Technical 6, Thames 0. A little later Gear, at five-eighths, secured from a sorum and cutting in nicely in-passed to Barber, who went over. The kiok failed. —'Hamilton Technical 9, Thames 0. Hamilton had had all the best of the spell. The second half was more even and soon after resumption Hamilton, who were defending, were penalised for lifting In the scrum. . Brown goaled. —Hamilton Technical 9, Thames 3. Thames continued to attack and had Hamilton Technical penned up for some time, Garry, who was playing a sterling, game, eventually olearing. The rest of the spell was a duel between th opposing packs, the wet state of the ball militating against open back play. Hamilton had the best of it, their forwards led by Garry, proving more versatile than the home side. The game ended with the score still —Hamilton Technical 9, Thames 3. The Juniors. The junior game was very even territorially. Thames had the better of it in the first spell and established a lead of six points, but Hamilton Technical settled down to the wet conditions and gaining the upper hand as the game progressed finally ran out the winners with the scores —Hamilton Technical 13, Thames ti. For the visitors tries were scored by Grey, Sullivan and Bolton, of which Bolton converted two: while for Thames Watson, MacMillan and Bush secured one try each, one of which was converted by Courtney.

The visitors were very hospitably entertained at lunch and afternoon tea by the staff and pupils of the Thames High School.
