In the House of Commons Sir Bolton Eyres-Monsell, First Lord of the Admiralty, in a written answer to a question, said the Singapore base had reached such a stage that a ship was required similar to other bases. Consequently H. M. S. Terror, with 13 oillcers and 202 men was being despatched to Singapore, where the annual cost of maintenance would be £13,900 exclusive of the pay of the personnel. ________
