ON FIRMER FOUNDATION

RISE IN COMMODITIES

ELEMENTS OF PERMANENOE,

STIMULUS TO WORLD RECOVERY,

United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright,

(Received May 15, 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, May 14

Discussing the rise in commodity prices the Evening Standard says:— “ The present upward movement possesses elements of permanence to a greater degree than any of the spasmodic rallies which on several occasions during the late slump gave rise to hopes that the tide was on the turn. ■“ The rise now taking place commenced several weeks ago and is of a more general character than any previous spurts in the last two years.

“It Is built upon firmer foundations, namely, falling production, Increasing consumption, and the Inflationary measures adopted in America, Including the devaluation of the dollar, the Increase In purchasing power, providing the inecessary stimulus for world recovery.”
