QUEENSLAND CRIME CLUES. DISCOVERIES BY POLICE. (From a Correspondent.) BRISBANE, May 1. Particulars of the finding of a decomposed body, believed lo be that of Pcreival Read, in an old disused well six miles from Dolby, Queensland, show Hint the man arrived in Dulby about eight months ago ami bought about 8(b) acres of land. On March 9 lie motored to Toowoomba and left for his borne on the same day. Since then nothing has been seen of him. The police are making extensive inquiries concerning a number of cheques in a hank hearing the supposed signature of Read, which the police believe lo bo forgeries. The police believe Hint Read was waylaid and murdered when nearing bis home, and Ids body was thrown Into lho well.
Detectives visited Ihe spol again today. A descent was made into Ibo well and the remains xvero recovered.
