HYDRO-ELECTRIC POWER

reduction in bulk cost. FARMERS SUPPORT BOARDS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The Dominion executive of the Farmers’ Union decided to-day to support the action of certain electricpower boards in endeavouring to secure a reduction in the cost of bulk power as supplied to boards. One delegate contended that the time had arrived for a revision of the whole system of power board charges. The president, Mr W. J. Poison, M.P., said the department was not making a profit, and a price reduction would come only from the Consolidated Fund.

Mr Mulholland said the main problem involved was a redistribution of charges. Considerable relief could be given without throwing a burden upon the cities.
