ENJOYABLE CONCERT

ORGANISED BY Y.M.C.A. OUTSTANDING PROGRAMME. Another concert of outstanding merit, which warranted a much larger attendance, was held in the Y'.M.C.A. Stadium last evening to raise funds for the association. Items of uniformly high quality were provided, encores being insisted upon by an enthusiastic audienoe. The Y.M.C.A. authorities are to be congratulated upon organising an entertainment of such allround excellence, the contributing artists oomblning some of the best musical and elocutionary talent in Hamilton.

Following was the programme:— Pianoforte duot, “ Husarenrlth ” (Spindler), Misses W. James and R. Findlay; songs, “The End of the Road," “ Rose of Tralee," Mr J. G. McCready; elocutionary Hems, "To An Old Silk Dress," “ Putting Up With Ft,” Miss Iris Andrews; songs, "My Prayer," “ Fat Little Fellow," Mrs lan Stuart; violin solos, “Life Let Us Cherish,’’ “ Rondo." “ Motu Perpetuo," “ Spring Song," Master R. Ilammerton; tap-dancing, Miss Mavis Laurenson; songs, “On Wings of Song,"' “ I Heard You Sinslng,” Mr lan Anderson; humorous numbers, Mr 11. Absolum; national dancing. Miss D. Gilmore, accompanied on bagpipes by Miss Clothier; conjuring, Mr R. Dixon; songs, “ Vale,” “ 1 Wonder,” Mrs G. Boyes; songs. “ Who is Sylvia?” “My Paradise," Miss R. Sutherland; elocutionary items, Mr G. Moore; songs. “ A King’s Man," “ Wayfarer’s Night Song,” Mr H. Worm. Sympathetic accompaniments were plaved by Mrs H. Absolum, Miss R. Findlay. Miss M. Laurcnson, Miss Jones and Mr It. N. Anderson. At the conclusion of the concert, Mr C. L. Cato, on behalf of the management of the Y.M.C.A., expressed warm appreciation of the excellent performances, a sentiment which was endorsed by generous applause from the audience. Afterwards the artists ■were entertained at supper by the management and directors of the Y.M.C.A.
