The Spring meeting of the Fending Jockey Club was opened to-day in fine weather. There was a good attendance and the track was in excellent order. Won by a length with half a length between second and third. Time, 1.28. The Felldlng Stakes. In the Feildlng Stakes Lady Quex was a strong favourite over Midinette end Souchong, 'but 'failed to gain a place. The order from the start was Souchong and Royal Hunting, Midinette and Lady Quex and Right Bower. Souchong then went out clear and was followed into the straight by Midinette, Royal Hunting, Lady Quex and Right Bower. In a great finish Midinette just got up to beat Souchong 'by a good head, with Right Bower two lengths away third and Lady Quex fourth. Lady Quex received an injury to a leg at Takapuna anil possibly this affected her, for she showed no dash at-any stage. The Totallsator. The totallsator handled £9768, •gainst £11,244 on the first day last year, a decrease of £1476. THREE-bIVIDEND SYSTEM. IN FORCE' AT FEILDING. ' PALMERSTON, NORTH, Thursday. The three-dividends system was in dperalion at the Feilding faces to-day, and applied to six races. Only in six instances out of the 22 dividends paid did Investors receive less than their money back. SCRATCHINGS FOR AUCKLAND. AUCKLAND, Thursday. Vollmond and Tai Ao were yesterday .withdrawn from all engagements at the Auckland Racing Club's Summer Meeting. ! -
