This year particular attention will be given to the boys and girls belonging to families of the unemployed. Health Camps are not an experiment. During the past three years thousands of young New Zealanders have benefited as a result of spending four or five weeks in a Health Camp under medical supervision. Systematic play, rest, and feeding, sun-bathing, and a modified school curriculum provide a happy period of health-building that many children need. The children invited to the camps are selected by school Medical Officers and Nurses of the Department of Health on their own observations and on the recommendations of Medical Practitioners. In a few w'eeks of camp life it is not uncommon to see improvement in weight from 6 pounds to 14 pounds. Subsequent watching has shown that about 90 per cent, of children continue their improvement. Every Health Stamp sold means a benefit to young New Zealand. The object is not so much to give charity as to GIVE A CHANCE! If every person in New Zealand over 12 years of age buys only six stamps, a fund of £12,000 will be secured.
