SUPERANNUATION.

STATE SERVICES FUNDS. OFFICIAL COMMITTEE’S REPORT. MAY NOT BE PRESENTED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Owing to the protracted nature of Its Investigations the Inquiry of the departmental committee appointed about two years ago to look Into the state of the Public Service, Teachers’ and Railways’ Superannuation Funds has been lost sight of during recent months. II had been expected that the report of the committee would have been in the hands of the Government before the present -session commenced, but no indication is yet available as to when the committee will complete the work. The possibility that the report will not be presented, In view of the fact that the National Expenditure Commission is Inquiring into the same matter, was mentioned by Hon. G. W. Forbes to-day. He said he w r as unable to say whether it was proposed to adopt that course. The committee had been a particularly useful one, and had had to deal with some difficult points. It w'as possible that the data which had been collected up to the present wmuld be placed before a Royal Commission, and thus assist it to arrive at a reoommendation, based on -evidence the departmental committee had adduced.
