Afternoon for Bride-to-be. On Friday last Mrs Lev! Cowley gave an afternoon at her home In honour of her niece, Miss Ida Cowley, who is shortly to be married. The afternoon took the form of a d’oyley, recipe and handkerchief afternoon. Mrs Cowley received her guests in black crepe de chine and the guest of honour wore a fawn costume, with green silk Jumper.

Mrs N. McKinnon contributed vocal items and the two competitions were won by Miss Alice Speake. Amongst the guests were Mrs A. Cowley and Ida, Mrs A. Steenson and Phoebe, Mrs J. Boyd and Isabel and Margaret. Mrs J. Graham and Olive, Mrs Speake and Muriel and Alice, Mrs Johnson and Miss Johnson, Mrs O. Lynds and Millie, Mrs Barr. Mrs Lockle, Mrs .1. Tarr. Mrs B. Mitchell, Mrs E. Cowley, Mrs McKinnon, Mrs Farrell, Misses Nellie and Una Scott, Miss Winnie Tarr.
