Mr F. A. King, 'Of Melbourne, Is at the Hamilton Hotel.

Dr. 11. W. K. Mowll, ©ishop of Western China, left Wellington by the Makura for Sydney on Tuesday.

Dr. C. J. Reakes, Director-General of Agriculture, was in Hamilton today.

Mr A. T. Wells, Receiver of Mental Hospitals, who lias been visiting Hamilton, left for Auckland to-day.

Mr E. Ellison, of 'the Inspectorial staff of the Public Trust, is visiting Hamilton.

The Rev. Solomon Katz, the new Rabbi of Wellington, is due to arrive in Auckland by the Niagara on August 10.

Mr Josiah Keys, of Tolro, South Otago, will celebrate his 102nd birthday to-morrow. Mr Keys is still in good health and has an alert bearing.

Mr John Fraser, general manager of the Meat Board, Is visiing the Waikato to investigate pig-recording work. Mr Fraser- is -staying at -the Hamilton Hotel.

Mr John Farrell left Auckland for Wellington last evening to take charge of the J. C. Williamson Musical Comedy Company which arrived from Australia this week to tour with “Sons o’ Guns.”

Advice has been received that Dr. J. L. Mercer, son of Dr. W. B. Mercer, of the Department of Health, Wellington, lias passed his examination for membership of -the Royal College of Physicians, London.

Mr W. 11. Lucas, who has been District Coroner at Thames for the past 21 years, resigned recently. The cx-Mayor, Mr William Bongard, has been appointed to the position.

Messrs J. Fraser, J. Coates (Wellington), P. Warmiton, V. A. Huddleston, 11. E. Mann, F. S. Stevens, R. 11. Robinson, L. J. Harley (Auckland) and J. W. Burtenshaw (Christchurch) are at the Hamilton Hotel.

After 10 years as general manager of the Stratford Dairy Company, Mr T. Me Elroy lias resigned his position, and employees of the main factory and its branches presented him with a silver and oak tray and a solid silver afternoon tea service.

Mr K. M. Ollivier, who for the last three years has been assistantmanager of the Christchurch branch of (he Bank of New Zealand, lias been promoted to Lhe rank of sub-inspector, with headquarters in Christchurch. Mr Ollivier will be succeeded by Mr P. L. Porter.
