OPERATIONS IN AUCKLAND. BIDDING EXTREMELY DULL. (By Telegraph—Special to Times.) ■\ . AUCKLAND, Monday. A couple of sales of bank shares comprised the only business recorded at the first call this morning. Fresh bidding was extremely (full, buyers being hesitant. The banking section was weak. In- ' surances were steady, £2 Is 6d being offered for New Zealands and £2 11s fid for South British. < For the local Issues Leyland O’Brien Timber was offered at par, and Devonport Steam at 19s 9d. The recent regular inquiry for Hill and Plummer's shares at 15s brought an offer of a parcel at 17s. Goxernment tax-free stocks were • again neglected by buyers. SALES EFFECTED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Monday. The following sales took place on the Stock Exchange to-day:— King Solomon, is lid. New Zealand Insurance, 41 s 6d. Australasia, £9. Reported.
