ACCIDENTS AT FOOTBALL.
MANY PLAYERS INJURED. AUCKLAND, Saturday. Playing for the Eden Rugby Club at Point Chevalier, G. Barnett rcrceived fractured ribs; G. Munyard, of Ponsonby, suffered a dislocated shoulder while playing for a Parnell Rugby team; S. C. Whitehead, of Grey Lynn, a member of the City senior Rugby team, had his left leg broken; and an eye Injury was suffered by W. Maddren, of Ponsonby, while playing for the Grafton fifth grade Rugby team. A dislocated shoulder was received by T. Smith, of Newton, a member of tho Ponsonby League team; W. M?Loughlin suffered severe concussion while playing for a Marist League team. A. Portcous. Newton half-back, received a head injury during Ihe match against Marist Old Boys. He did not take much notice of the happening, which occurred about twenty minutes before the end of the game. When he came off the field, however, ho collapsed. He is suffering from concussion. player cut by glass. TE AROIIA. Saturday. A member of the City Football Club's junior team. E. Graham, received painful injuries lo Ihe right knee through falling on a . broken bottle during a game to-day. Two deep wounds were indicted amt necessitated the insertion of several Hitches.
