The veteran Dan Souter was in fine form and Arthur Downes caused a, sensation with a round equalling 70. The final results of the day’s play are:— Downes heat McDonald, 12 and 11; Copry beat Heard, 6 and 4; Souter beat Giles, 5 and 3; Bolger beat Eyre, 8 and 7; Gates beat Cohen, 8 and 7; Campbell beat Ginman, 8 and 7; Gray beat Thompson, 5 and 3; Richardson beat Clark, 2 and 1.
