BUCKLAND ROAD.
The Pastures. Buckland Road presents a vast difference in aspect now from what it was some years ago. The real value of the land in the district for grazing is being found, with the result that several new settlers have entered the district and taken up the previously unoccupied holdings. There is really only one holding of any consequence yet untenanted, and even in that holding some show of interest is being evinced. Where once there was boundless fern a few years ago grass paddocks are rapidly making their appearance, steadily going further away from the road. Neglected Road. F One thing which prevents Buckland Road from becoming a first-class community is the neglected stale of the road. For about five miles there is an unmetalled stretch which the farmers find a great handicap in getting produce to and from their farms. Poop Mail Service. Another handicap experienced is the poor mail service. The farmers in many cases have to go about four or five miles for their mail. However, Buckland Road has a future, and will prove that its land is every bit as good and productive of fine pastures as any of the lowerlying counlrysida-
