BURS REKE THOffiSEN. i The death has occurred of Mrs ftbks Thomsen, of WMliora, at the age of 71 years. Bnm in Schvrid, Holstein, she came to New Zealand with her parents 55 -rears agn. She was married in Marton to Peter Adolph Thomsen. _ Mrs Thomsen had resided at dlflerent times at Te Aroha, Rangiwahia, and Waitetmra, coming to Hamilton some twelve years .ago. Although Mrs Thomsen did not take an active part in social .actrrilies, she will he remembered by a wide circle of friends. She is survived by her husband, three daughters (Mrs S. Cracknel!, Claudclands, Mrs H. Huhlz, Puketaha, and Airs H. Rotherham, Whitiora), and one son [Mr P. Thomsen, of Puketaha). SIR McHJEHAanW. (157 TelesTaph—Press Association.) ELLINGTON, Tuesday. Airs Downing was bom in Guernsey, and had. resided in New Zealand for over 60 years. SIR THOMAS HUGHES. SYDNEY, April 15. The death has occurred of Sir Thomas Hughes, well known in legal and commercial circles in Sydney. He *-as the First Lord .Mayor of Sydney.
