RAILWAY CLUB. PROGRESSIVE PAIRS. Following are the results of the “Ladies’ Day” tournament played on the Railway green on Saturday:— Mesdames J. Thompson, Dwyer and Messrs Cowley and Cook, 25, v. Mesdames Max and Slade and Messrs Ratcliff and Barr 14. Mesdames D. Thompson and Hepplestone and Messrs Mander and Henderson, 19, v. Mesdames Green and Cowley and Messrs Fiddes and Mara, 18. Mesdames Cave and Barr and Messrs Welsh and Hepburn 17, v. Mesdames Mander and Darrowman and Messrs Slad and Hamilton, 16. CAMBRIDGE CLUB. Owing to the inter-club match between Claudelands and the Cambridge Club being postponed on account of the death of the late Mr John McCaw, of Hamilton, the Cambridge teams taking part in the Easter tournament were pitted against one another, and some well-contested games resulted. Ordinary draw games were also played. The tournament team's’ games were played on the winter green, which was a little heavy, but better than anticipated.
