KAIPAKI.

Euchre and Dance. The second euchre and dance, organised by the Day School Committee, to raise funds for a school piano, was held in the hall. Owing to various other attractions not a big number was present, and the committee will have to put in another event before its objective is realised, as the whole of the amount to be subsidised by the Education Board must be submitted to them in one sum. There was a good floor and Mrs Banfleld supplied the music, extras being given by Miss 1. Cunningham. Mr D. Walker was M.C. Prizes for the euchre tournament, for which Mr J. Boyd was M.C., w'ere won by Miss M. Cowley after playing off with Mrs Daisley, and Mr J. Scott. Consolation; Mrs Garmonsway and Mr J. Searle. The Monte Carlo Waltz w'as won by Mr J. Boyd and Mrs Walker, and the waltzing competition was won by Miss Rita Daisley and partner, Mrs Cray and partner being close runners-up.
