Following 18 months’ comparative peace, during which the Nationalist Government (alternatively termed the Sun Regime) firmly established themselves, securing control of plums of office, the Left Wing of the Koumintang has thrown down the gage for the purpose of wresting power from the Sun Family. General Feng yuHsiang, who is heading the Kuo-min-Chun, has mobilised his forces and is advancing along the Peiping-llankow railway with the objective of capturing Hankow, while the Nanking forces are preparing for the inevitable war, which it is believed will decisively settle the dispute between the two factions.
