KAWHIA.
St. John’s Girls’ Club. St. John’s Girls’ Club, Te Awamutu, presented the sparkling comedy, “All a Mistake,” to a good audience in the Town Hall. The actors performed with credit, and the company is to be congratulated on the success of its efforts. The proceeds were given to the Kawhia Guild to assist in wiping out debts. At the conclusion of the play the vicar, Rev. Alexander, thanked the visitors for the evening’s entertainment. Mrs W. Scott, with the assistance of a few of the Kawhia ladles, organised a launch picnic to Te Maika beach to entertain the guests.
Beautifying Society.
It Is only a few months since this society came Jnto existence, but as a result of a weekly working bee the efforts of the society have already be* gun to bear fruit, as evidenced by the improved appearance of the Triangle which was recently handed over to it by the Town Board. In furtherance of the scheme tc provide shade and shelter for picnickers, the Improvement League despatched a consignment of pohutakawa trees to Te Maika to be planted.
