HUNTLY AND FRANKTON. WIN FOR FORMER. A VERY EVEN GAME. When the Huntly representatives met Frankton on Hinemoa Park on Saturday the supporters of both sides expected a very even game, and such it was. After a fast, open exhibition the visitors gained a narrow victory, with the score: Huntly 6, Frankton 3. The teams were:—Huntly.—Broughton, Miki, Jones, G. Raynor, Whorskey, Baker, Scott, j Stephenson, Timms, Trauvctter, I Mason, Scott, Gruby. ! Frankton.—Carter, Ilill, Jackways, ! From a scrum the i visitors secured the leather, but a ; good scoring chance was lost through Whorskey knocking on. From a series of scrums the visitors worked play to midfield, where their forwards carried the ball at their toes to Franklon's 25, where, from a scrum, Huntly secured. A good scoring opportunity was lost through bad handling in the visiting backs. Huntly again secured frojn a scrum. Jones sent the ball to Whorskey, who cut in beautifully, but his pass was dropped and a sure try lost. Frankton relieved with a penalty and -carried play to the opposition 25. From loose play in midfield Stephenson picked up and transferred to Trauvetter, who passed to Gruby; but the movement was held up in Frankton's 25, the home team giving a good display of defensive play.
