WEDDING.

MacKENZIE—WALTERB. The wedding was solemnised at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Hamilton, on August 14 between Linda, eldest daughter of Mr G. Walters, of Westport, and the late Mrs G. Walters, of Karangahake, and Mervyn, second son of Mr and Mrs R. MacKenzie, of Hamilton. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her uncle, Mr J. E. McLachlan, wore a charming frock of pale pink satin and lace. The skirt of lace falling in an uneven hemline, was finished with a large satin bow at the hip. An embroidered tulle veil forming a train was held in place with a coronet of pearls. A shower bouquet of pink roses and maidenhair fern and finished with tiny streamers of pink ribbon completed a charming toilette.

The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Treve Walters, and the bridegroom’s sister, Miss Jean MacKenzie, as bridesmaids, wearing pale green and mauve respectively. Their frocks were made with satin bodices finished with scalloped collars of georgette and the skirts of tiny tulle frills featured an uneven hemline. They wore headdresses of silver and carried tulle muffs finished with sprays and streamers of silver ribbon. The bridegroom was at’tended by Mr Noel Pope as best man and Mr Eric MacKenzie as groomsman.

After the wedding the bride's aunt, Mrs J. E. McLachlan, received her guests at the Centreway Tea Rooms wearing a frock of navy marocain handsomely embroidered and a fox fur. Her hat was of nut brown chip straw.

Mr and Mrs MacKepzie left later for Russell, the bride wearing a sultana brown face cloth coat trimmed with blush foxaline fur over a frock of chenille embroidered in shades of blue and a hat of blush felt embroidered in blue.
